ETI-TEXTIL has developed a new quality for woven labels. It is known as High Definition Plus. It is characterized by its ultra definition and soft touch. Thanks to this new development it is possible now to make woven labels with very sharp drawings, thin lines and narrow letters. Colours are very intense. Hence, this new quality will contribute to achieve the goal to improve the brand identification on the garment through woven labels.
On the sample image, you might find some of the features of this new woven label quality. Please, note that the text "ETIQUETAS TEJIDAS" that is placed below the ETI – TEXTIL logo is very legible, even though these letters are woven and are very narrow. Besides, on the ETI – TEXTIL logo, you might appreciate that there are no binding points. It is important to consider the colour intensity, specially in this case, where the white logo is placed on a black ground. With a normal woven label quality, the white would be a little bit dark. In this case, with the new woven label quality, the white is very intense and bright.
The High Definition Plus quality will create high added value woven labels that will improve the looking of the garment.
The label is having an increasing prominence in the trade of any product. The use of labels tries to achieve the followings goals:
Ø Communication. The brand and other features of the product are communicated to the consumer through the label.
Ø Differentiation.
Ø Legal. The label provides relevant information to the consumer. This information must be clearly expressed on the label and in accordance with what is established in the law.
Ø Information. Labels contain important information regarding the use instructions of the product.
Ø Costs reduction on the logistics chain.
A good label has to carry out all these aims. Let's see each of them in detail :
1-Communication
How the consumer notices the brand of a product? Where does the product have the corporative identity of the company?
It seems to be evident that the packaging, in general, has an important prominence in the task of communication to the consumer. The label contains the brand of the product. Consumers are informed about the brand through the label. If the purchase process is not planned, it is important to distinguish the product to get the right attention of the consumer. If so, it will recognize and choose the product among others that may be in the sales point.
If the purchase process is planned, the label has to allow the quickly and correct identification of the product by the consumer. To that end, the label must transmit the image of the product that exists on the mind of the consumer, in order to allow a rapid association in the purchase action.
From this reasoning, we can deduce without any doubt how important the label is in the purchase decision.
If consumers do not have any previous experience regarding the product or their brand, the label must be attractive enough to capture their attention.
In all cases where the purchase decision is planned, the consumer probably buys after a good previous experience. It means that, when it bought the product before, it satisfied its necessity or expectations. In this case, the label's role would be to be identified by the consumer.
The conclusion is that labels play an important role while the purchase decision is being taken by consumers. Now, let's think the opposite situation. If a good label generates sales, what effects would generate a poor quality label?
It is easy to calculate and compare the cost of a good label. Nevertheless, how much cost a poor label? When we compare the price of a label, the really important thing it is not the price itself, but the benefit and added value that is generated by the label.
Since the comunication of the brand to consumers is done through labels, the expense on labels must be analyzed as an investment instead of a simple waste. The investment in labels is very profitable.
Make a good label and let your best "silence" seller do his job.
2 – Differentiation.
Nowadays, there is an excess for all products in the market. Being different is not a desire, but a necessity. Only those products that manage to be different on the consumer's mind will be able to keep the level of sales and to generate enough added value.
The competition has become international instead of regional or local, as it used to be a few years ago. In the current international environment only the best sort of products can survive.
How many excellent products disappear each year because these do not generate any added value to the consumer?
When the added value does not exist, the consumer decides to replace it by other product with similar features but cheaper.
The difference of a product could be in many aspects. Quality, comfort and usage are some of the differential factors that a product may have. However, if it does not communicate these attributes to consumers, they will not recognize them. This is the main reason why the differentiation of the product begins with the communication of their excellent attributes. If your product is different, you must communicate it and for that reason, the investment in labeling could be your best allied!!!
3 – Legal.
Besides the aims of communication and differentiation that we have described before, the labels fulfill legal rules. These collect important information to the user. The European rules of consumption are increasingly stricter regarding the information that has to be communicated to consumers. In case of clothing labels and other textile products, the composition label must collect the composition of the fabric, indicating the percentage of the different fibers, the symbols and washing instructions, legal information about the manufacturer or importer, etc… In case of foodstuff, the label must collect information of the weight and volume of the product, ingredients of the product, etc…
4 – Information.
Labels contain information regarding the instructions of use of the product and the rules to the correct preserving of the same. Laws set more and more requirements to the manufacturers and distributors. Hence, it is important that the preserving and use rules are perfectly clear, defining which are the matters that should or could be done and which should not or could not be done. The correct definition of these rules will guarantee the use from consumers and it will reduce the necessity of deal with improper complaints for manufacturers or distributors.
5 – Cost reductions on the logistics chain.
The label may contain coded information, through a bar code or other systems that collect information about the product. This will help to trace the life of the product throughout the production and distribution process. The application of barcodes on the labels reduces significantly the control cost in the supply chain.
